About Sean:

Sean Chow is an Associate for 1001 in the Westen US where he works to equip leaders, churches and presbyteries to begin new expressions of the church.  As a former New Worshiping Community Leader himself (Refresh, Laurel Springs, NJ), Sean is passionate about walking with groups through the tough and exciting process of starting new worshiping communities.

What do you love about working with 1001?

Hearing the stories of those doing the work is incredible. From the rural ministry in the Appalachian Mountains to creative ministry in Los Angeles. It is amazing to see God using people throughout the country.

What is your favorite ice cream flavor?

I don't have a favorite ice cream per say, but rather have a black and tan sundae from Fenton's in Oakland, CA.

Where is a place you've never been that you'd love see?

As my travel has increased these past few years, I am starting to get excited about visiting new cities and areas around the country.

A book you've read/are reading you could recommend to planters?

A few years back I read the book "The Barbarian Way" by Erwin McManus that changed the way that I thought about church. Other great reads are the "Grasshopper Myth" by Karl Vaters and "Embodying Our Faith" by Tim Morey.

What is a "third space" where you spend time building relationships with people where you live and work?

I find myself at the local taven (I don't drink) eating half price buffalo wings with the local crowd, spending time in the community, or at my local paintball field (did I mention that I am tournament player?).

A Bible verse that undergirds your ministry/life

Ministry is done more than on a Sunday morning, but sharing our lives throughout the week as well.

Because we loved you so much, we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well because you are dear to us.  1 Thessalonians 2:8
