About Caz:

 

Caz Minter is an Associate for 1001 in the SouthCentral US where he works to equip leaders, churches and presbyteries to begin new expressions of the church.  As a church planter himself (LiveOak Presbyterian in NW Austin, TX), Caz is passionate about walking with groups through the tough and exciting process of starting new worshiping communities.

 

What do you love about working with 1001?

I love the people I get to interact with.  Their passion for being involved in God's work is incredible. 

 

What is your favorite ice cream flavor?

New York Super Fudge Chunk (that's Ben and Jerry's if you are wondering) 

 

Where is a place you've never been that you'd love see?

Is "inside my wife's head" a bad answer?  I have never been able to get in there and I would really like to.  Not only would it be a fun trip, but I think it would answer a lot of questions I have. 

 

A book you've read/are reading you could recommend to planters?

There are so many depending on what I'm wrestling with!  When we were first gathering as a new church, the Tangible Kingdom (Halter & Smay) was very practical and helpful.  Right now, our particular context is really important to us and the book Death by Suburb (Goetz) is informing who we want to be as a church. 

 

What is a "third space" where you spend time building relationships with people where you live and work?

Well, my office is the coffee shop down the street, but the truth is that the best relationship building time I get these days happens in the hallways of my kids' school and on the sidelines of their ball games - that's just where we are in life these days

 

A Bible verse that undergirds your ministry/life

As a church planter, I always need to be reminded of Paul's prayer for me...

I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Eph 3:17-19
